The rainbow

Have you ever thought about the rainbows colors? What it is a symbol of?

The rainbow is GODs promise to never again destroy the earth by water(flood).

Genesis 9:11-16
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

Have you thought about the colors in the rainbow? Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple...

Red- blood, roses, raspberries, cinnamon candles, swedish fish

Orange- oranges(of course...), basketball, Reeses wrapper, hunting vest, goldfish(the kind you eat and the kind that swims)

Yellow- bannana, the sun, yield light, lemon heads,

Green- grapes, grass, go light(whatever its called... =P), my quilt, CMMS Hornets

Blue- sky, water, blueberries, our christmas decorations, the shirt im wearing

Purple-(technically violet...) raisins(gross... =b), flowers, grapes,

Do you enjoy colors? I do! =D Anyone who knows me knows that! On several occasions i have been told by my sister or mom that i am wearing stuff that does not match... Oh well! =) I love colors because GOD made them for us to enjoy. Dont waste them!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

What are we thankful for today?

Do we thank God every day? Or do we thank him once a year on Thanksgiving?

We should be thankful every day! We should constantly be praising and thanking GOD for everything he has done in our lives. One of my dad’s favorite songs is Count Your Blessings and normally, he sings it “count your blessings, name them 100 by 100” instead of “1 by 1”… and we always protest because he’s always trying to do something funny. =)

But seriously, we should have hundreds of things to be thankful for every day!

Do you thank him for every little thing?

Did you thank him for your thanksgiving dinner? Like, really thank him? Or did you just overlook it because you knew it was going to be there? Have you thanked GOD for the clothes you are wearing? The shoes on your feet? How about for HIS salvation? Or his mercy? Love? Forgiveness? Patience?

Here is a list of things I am most thankful for:

1. JESUS’ willingness to die on the cross for my sin.

2. HIS loving forgiveness when I sin and repent.

3. My Christian family (I thank him that this includes my immediate family!)

4. Colors! (Otherwise this world would be a dreary place.)

5. A house that holds out the cold weather.

6. A car (MY PARENTS...)

7. A savings account with money in it.

8. A job (3 in fact. All seasonal)

9. A dad who works hard to support my family.

10. A mom who works hard to take care of my family.

11. My ability to witness for CHRIST.

12. The ability to serve the LORD in many ways.

13. A pastor who preaches the word, no matter the season. 2 Timothy 4:2

14. My Bible.

15. An abundance of clothes.

What are you thankful for today?

Challenging each other to live for CHRIST

When is the last time you had a conversation with your friends that included talking about spiritual things?

When is the last time you prayed with a friend?

When is the last time you gave someone a BIBLE verse to try to encourage them?

When is the last time you stood for something right when your friends seemed to be doing the wrong thing?

When is the last time you were not hesitant to talk about JESUS when you are around unsaved friends?

I must admit, I can remember times i have not stood spiritually. I can remember times when i have tried not to have people know that I am a Christian. There have been times that i believe my saviour has been ashamed of me...

I have a hard time when i work. I work at middle school athletic events and am around a lot of ungodly people. Sometimes, i am ashamed to say, i have tried to "compromise" and act as much like them as i can without going "too far". Myfriends, ANYTIME you try to compromise from what you KNOW is right YOU HAVE ALREADY GONE TOO FAR!!!!!

Until recently, i did not know what an encouragement a shared BIBLE verse could be! I did not know how reassuring and what a blessing it is to know SOMEONE is out there PRAYING FOR me!!! I believe it is my job to try to encourage those around me. I believe it is everyones job. But God calls some to do other things as well.

Romans 12:6-8
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

Exhortation-The form of words intended to incite and encourage. Advice; counsel.

I pray GOD uses this to help not only you who read this, but me as well!!!

Thoughts on Brotherly Love

What is your definition of brotherly love?

Mark 3:31-35

There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him{Jesus}, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

This verse states that all Christians are brothers and sisters right?  Then why do some people say that Christian brothers and sisters must be separated? Why must we brothers and sisters practically ignore those of the opposite gender especially if they are within a certain age of us? Why cant we live like a family when we are together?

Do you have friends who you see more like brothers and sisters? I do... =) if i counted them all, i would have 17 soon to be 18 siblings counting my blood brothers and sister. Most of them know i see them as siblings but one or two brothers i dont think would admit it if you asked them. =P

I’ve been told that I am a physical person. And I know I am. =) I just sometimes have a hard time expressing some things with words. It is easy to give someone a hug or squeeze their shoulder letting them know you care and are thankful for them!

Some people use 1 Corinthians 7:1. It says, “ Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.” Have you ever read that verse in context? If not, I would encourage you to do so.  Have you noticed that there is only one verse that says that? And if it is taken in context I do not believe that is what it is talking about.

On the other hand, there are several verses which tell us to have brotherly love.

1 Peter 3:8

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

Romans 12:10

 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

1 Thessalonians 4:9

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.

1 John 2:10

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

This verse {to me} proves those people wrong who say Christian brothers and sisters should stay away from each other. We should love as bretheren until God tells us different. If we do not love our Christian brothers and sisters in that way, we may be tempted to love as we should not thus disobeying Gods command to “Keep thy heart with all diligence” Proverbs 4:23.

Please do not take this and believe it just because you read it on my blog. Search it out! I beg you! Be in your Bible and believe what you read because GOD SAID IT!!!

umm.... im not so sure... =P

Hello people!
This is my first time blogging so im not really sure exactly what im doing... =P A little bit about me: Right now im kinda hyper because i had some Mountain Dew. =) I love texting my friends and family, love spending time with people, some might call me wild...(many people actually...) i LOVE bright colors and do not like wearing dark, I do not know how to match colors and have found, several times, that i have been wearing things that absolutely dont match. I am sometimes extremely random, in fact, recently i found myself humming "the Itsy Bitsy Spider"...(dont ask ANY questions! because i wont have any answers...) Im not normally too shy, dont know if youve already noticed. Well, i didnt have much time but wanted to start this thing. =)
