Fruit of the spirit #2, JOY

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The second fruit is Joy.

JOY- that excitement of pleasurable feelings which is caused by success, good fortune, the gratification of desire or some good possessed; gladness; exultation; exhilaration of spirits.

I especially enjoy this fruit of the spirit. =) When I see someone who is frowning or is sad, I want to make them happy! Maybe it’s because my middle name is Joy. I also like bright cheerful colors. =)

The last fruit of the spirit I posted on was love. Because JESUS loves us, HE has joy when we repent and get saved.

Luke 15:7
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Luke 15:10
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Do we love people enough and care about their souls enough to have joy when someone gets saved? Or do we just say that’s good and not think any more about it?

The Bible tells also tells us to be joyful in the Lord.

Psalms 35:9
And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.

We should be always joyful while we are serving God! If we have no pleasure in serving Jesus, something is wrong…

We should rejoice when HE counts us worthy of suffering for HIM!

Acts 5:41
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

We should be very glad when JESUS counts us worthy to suffer shame and tribulation! We should never be ashamed of our LORD!

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Proverbs 15:13
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Is there someone you could make happy today? Do you know of something special that would bring a smile to someone’s face today? Let me encourage you to do something to make someone happy today! If you do, you will not only make them happy, but you will also make GOD and yourself happy as well. =)

Bring a smile to someone’s face today! Share your joy! If you are someone who needs some joy, here is my attempt to share my Joy!
